MINDSET’s initiatives are focused in the areas of Awareness & Outreach, Back to the Workforce, Social Enterprise, Fund Raising and Fund Allocation.
MINDSET also organises Fun Days, which provides mental health clients, caregivers and Jardine employees opportunities to interact with one other through various activities.
Persons with mental health issues often face social stigma due to the public’s lack of awareness and understanding of mental health conditions. The Awareness & Outreach team seeks to address this issue through raising mental health awareness via outreach events, communicating with stakeholders through collaterals, social media platforms as well as creating interaction opportunities with mental health clients to promote greater social acceptance.
The second Mini-MINDSET Day took place over the festive season where the A&O team organised a Christmas party for stay-in residents from the SAMH Group Homes. Over 40 residents enjoyed playing games and participating in the Christmas carols sing-along led by the JAs.
Since 2012, The MINDSET Challenge & Carnival has raised over S$3.2 million for various mental health projects in Singapore.
With the fundraising activities, MINDSET is able to channel funds directly to selected charitable organisations. This enables donors to receive tax deduction benefits, where available. Since 2011, Jardines has donated and committed over S$9.9 million to various programmes and initiatives in Singapore through MINDSET.
